A few weeks ago I hosted a panel on behalf of &tradition and Freunde von Freunden at the latter’s beautiful Friends Space in Kreuzberg, Berlin. I was joined by designer Maria Jeglinska and architect Sigurd Larsen for a look into how to make the place you live really feel like a ‘home’, as the outside world becomes increasingly hostile.
Was a great honour to be asked to speak at the Adidas Originals x Mixcloud event, Space is the Place. I led a panel comprised of Harry Fisher (Buyer, Machine-A), Thomas Gorton (Editor-in-Chief, Dazed Digital) and Taina Vilela (Marketing Director, Debop) as we navigated the subject of ‘the importance of community in a URL world’. Tailored for an audience of senior creatives at Adidas Originals, in anticipation of the opening of their new flagship store in Shoreditch, it was a genuinely illuminating and enjoyable afternoon covering everything from sustainability to social media to subcultures.
A great year culminated in the honour of being asked to moderate The Sooner Now – an all-day creative conference in Berlin organised by the peerless Freunde Von Freunden.
Over the course of the day, I was privileged enough to guide the audience and assembled speakers from around the world through wide-ranging conversations about the future of urban spaces, and how we might collectively have a positive impact on them.
It was an inspiring day that will live long in the memory.
